We started with a scrambled deck of story cards and this girl placed them in sequential order first, then wrote the story in her own words. Since we have been working on verb tense, she then wrote the story in the future tense. Love seeing her progress! 💚

On the first day of our Reading Power camp the students in the group read the book One Word for Kids by Jon Gordon, Dan Britton, and Jimmy Page. They each chose a word that was going to represent their feelings towards reading. The words they chose were brave, fun, love…setting the tone and positivity toward something difficult IS brave, can be FUN, and soon they WILL find love in there!

They did lots of amazing activities but this one is the foundation we need the most! 💚
