Band Families,

I have an exciting opportunity to do two things. I am selling the extra "vintage" marching band show shirts. This gives you an opportunity not only to grab some vintage gear but it will help the band as a mini fundraiser!

Also a huge shoutout to Grinnell College for use of their facility and to Paul at Paul’s ACE Hardware for donating the use of their generator!!

The kids performed great and I can’t wait to see the rest of the show!

Band students and families
I have attached a map for this evening. You can park in one of three places. The lots south of the tennis courts, the lot south of what is labeled Darby gym (Bear) on the map, or any of the side street parking nearby. Parking will be somewhat limited since the college kids came back today. If you choose side street parking please park well. Do not block driveways, mailboxes, fire hydrants, etc. I trust that none of you would do so but a friendly reminder doesn't hurt.

We will start warm up right at six pm and we will rehearse from 6-7:30. At 7:30 we will do a parent preview performance which will be one run through our drill to counts, one run through to music, and one run through of the other two pieces standing in the last picture.

I would love to have a few parents / community members there to cheer the kids on if you are able. I am sorry about the short notice on all of this but I didn't have a lot of notice either. I am just doing my best to make a positive out of a less than desirable situation. Hopefully you all understand.

I am loading up large equipment now (frontline, electronics, podiums and Sousas) remember, you must make sure that your personal instrument is with you.

I am so proud of the hard work that our kids have put in so far. They are marching this very, very well. I cannot wait to hear them play and march it tomorrow night!!

We had a great mattress fundraiser! We sold 40 matresses and earned $7500!! Thank you everyone who came out to support the high school band!!
