CCS- It's Time for a 60th Anniversary Flashback Fact.
At last year's auction, we honored two God Fearing Women for their phenomenal dedication to the auction and their long years of service. Jennifer Constant and Chrislin Knight are two outstanding women. Thanks to them, our auctions have what are known as Show Offs. These remarkable young men will not only help to showcase the items for bid but also help you take them carefully to your car. Below, we feature this year's Show Offs.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR ANNUAL AUCTION:

These nostalgic CCS pictures are courtesy of Robert Chase class of 1977. This year, Calumet Christian School is celebrating 60 years of ministry and academic excellence. Registration is now open. Bidding is the same as last year. Once you register, you will be assigned a bid number. If you are attending in person, you will receive your paddle at the event. If you are bidding from home, you can use your technological device (cell phone, iPad, computer). Once you register, you will receive a link with further details.

Some CCS History:
Calumet Baptist School was established in 1962 as Baptist Christian School, an agency of the Calumet Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches. Its board members were appointed by the council of nine of the CFRBC and was comprised of Pastors and laymen. Eventually, the bylaws were reworked giving each supporting church one representative on the council and allowing involvement by non-CFRBC Baptist churches who are independent and philosophically aligned with us. Since the dissolving of the CFRBC as an official fellowship of churches in the 2000’s, the board members are primarily made up of parents of current or former students.
CBS was started as an elementary school with grades K-6th at Calvary Baptist Church at the corner of Cottage Grove and Highway Ave. in Highland. In the fall of 1969, CBS was moved to Grace Baptist Church in Gary where it was housed until the fall of 1972. At this time, CBS purchased a facility at 47th and Whitcomb in Gary and added the ninth and tenth grades to complement the Jr. High classes which were housed at Glen Park Baptist for two years prior to the move. 11th and 12th grades were each added in the following years with the first graduating class of 12 in 1975.

The CCS Auction is approaching and these beautiful eighth grade young ladies hope to see you there. Here are a few things to remember.

1. Next Monday we will post a link so that you and your friends can start registering via our page.

2. You must register to place your bid during the event. If you have any difficulties with getting registered, please reach out to Janell at jharvey@ccspatriots,org. You have the option to register online or in person.

3. We will begin posting pictures of items via Facebook on October 24, 2022.

4. Mark your calendars, the event will be held on November 12th. Doors open at 11:00 am and bidding begins at 1:00 pm. The event is held at CCS-- 826 North Harvey-- Griffith, Indiana.

5. Thank the Lord for all of his marvelous works. We are grateful to celebrate 60 years. The word of God says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). Even when things don't go as we expect, our God is so magnificent that he still works things out for our good and His Glory!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY- CCS AUCTION APPROACHING

Calumet Christian School, established in 1962, will celebrate 60 years of ministry and academic excellence on Saturday, November 12, 2022. To commemorate the occasion, an annual auction will be held at the school which is located at 826 North Harvey Street in Griffith, Indiana.

This year’s theme, Celebrating Sixty Years of Ministry, will be demonstrated throughout the event. The day of the event, doors will open at 11:00 am and bidding will take place at 1:00. In addition to bidding, attendees can purchase one of several homemade desserts and dishes. This year’s corporate sponsors include United States Steel Corporation and Sheryl Arnold DDS. Various items are available for bid that can be given for special occasions. On October 24th, a sneak preview of some items will be made available via Facebook. Updates will continue until the day of the event. A link to pre-register will also be provided.

Congrats to Aaron Arndt, the winner of our 60th Anniversary logo contest. CCS, incorporated in 1962, will celebrate its 60th year of ministry on November 12, 2022. Aaron's logo will be used on this year's t-shirt design and other marketing materials. We hope to see you at the event. Stay tuned for further details.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Chicago Sky Basketball Team, some remarkable athletes from Calumet Christian School were able to attend a game in Chicago at no cost. It was thrilling for them to see professional athletes with a passion for basketball.

As an aside, please don't forget that Calumet Christian School is celebrating it's annual auction on November 12, 2022, We are so blessed to celebrate 60 years of ministry. If you are interested in donating, please contact Janell Harvey at [email protected]. We hope you can attend the event.

Calumet Christian School wholeheartedly thanks everyone who supported today's fundraiser at McAlister's. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to have lunch or dinner while supporting our students.

As an aside, we have additional fundraisers underway for this year. In September we will be coordinating our annual soap sale. Further information is forthcoming.

Our annual auction and 60th Year of Ministry is scheduled for Saturday November 12th. We have received some great donations thus far.
