Weekend Literacy Challenge

Grab a book and read with your little one for 10 minutes this weekend! Have them find a few letters or words they know and tell you their favorite part.

A little reading goes a long way!

Who’s reading this weekend?

Tip of the day

When your child gets stuck on a word, try not to immediately tell them the word.

Instead, say:

“What sound does the first letter make?”

“Let’s say each sound.”

“Now put those sounds together.”

That little bit of wait time gives your child an opportunity to actually use the reading skills they’re learning.

We want our little readers to learn how to work through words, not just wait for someone to give them the answer.

That’s the kind of confidence we’re building at Sims Learning Lab.

Meet Mrs. Sims!

I’m so excited to introduce myself as the educator behind Sims Learning Lab. As a certified Georgia educator, I have a passion for helping young learners strengthen their academic skills while building confidence in themselves.

I believe learning should be engaging, intentional, and meet children where they are. At Sims Learning Lab, my goal is to create learning experiences where children feel supported, challenged, and excited to grow.

This is only the beginning, and I’m excited to have you along for the journey!
