We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow !!!
’Twas the night before school, and all through the hall,
The classrooms stood ready to welcome them all.
The Bibles were placed on desks with great care,
Knowing eager hearts soon would gather there.
The whiteboards were cleaned, no dust in sight,
The hallways were peaceful in evening’s last light.
The pencils were sharpened, the chairs all in line,
Prepared for a purpose much greater than mine.
I walked through my classroom one more time,
Adjusting the things to make sure all is fine.
Then quietly paused in the stillness to pray,
“Lord, walk through these doors with my students each day.”
May kindness be spoken, may grace fill this place,
May each child discover Your truth and Your grace.
When lessons grow hard or frustrations appear,
Remind them, dear Father, that You are always near.
Some children will enter with laughter and cheer,
While others may carry anxiety and fear.
Some know of Your goodness; some still have to see
The love of our Savior reflected through me.
May reading and writing point hearts to Your Word,
May every kind action proclaim You are Lord.
May science reveal all the wonders You’ve made,
And history show how Your faithfulness stayed.
For this is far more than attendance and grades,
Or homework, or projects, or classroom displays.
We’re building disciples, one lesson, one day,
Teaching that Jesus is Life, Truth, and Way.
Tomorrow we will welcome each girl and each boy,
With hope in our hearts and a spirit of joy.
For here in this place, we will learn and we’ll grow,
In Christ, in community, in calling we go.
Then I turned out the lights with my heart full of praise,
Trusting God with the moments, the lessons, the days.
May His truth be our guide in all that we do,
As He shapes every heart and makes all things new.
