Attention GSCS Athletics parents and stakeholders:

GSCS Athletics is adjusting ticket prices for high school events for the 2026-2027 school year.

Rising costs are the reason for this increase. This year, officials costs have increased 4%. Additionally, our hourly cost for law enforcement officers has increased 62.5% from last year. As officials and security are items that we must have to compete, these are costs we must absorb.

Please remember that GSCS athletic programs do not receive district general funds to operate, and instead are funded primarily through gate receipts, player team fees and fundraising. We had an excellent season from all participants. Thank you for your support of Athletics in GSCS!

A special thanks goes to the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation for helping is start this program in The Griffin-Spalding County School System, Griffin GA. It has been a tremendous benefit to our schools, student-athletes and community!

GSCS Athletics has partnered with Positive Coaching Alliance to help improve experiences for our student-athletes, parents and coaches. In an effort to increase collaboration and communication with our parents, The Griffin-Spalding County School System, Griffin GA Athletics will be sending out resources via Rank One messaging to all Spring sports athletes and parents.

Today we proudly celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day by recognizing the incredible leadership of the two female athletic coordinators serving Griffin-Spalding County Schools. 🏆💪

Jennifer Hill of Griffin High School and Shacoria Jones of Carver Road Middle School exemplify what it means to lead with passion, integrity, and purpose. Their dedication goes far beyond schedules and scoreboards—they are mentors, role models, and advocates who create opportunities for student-athletes to grow both on and off the field.

The Griffin-Spalding County School System, Griffin GA is better because of women like Jennifer and Shacoria who open doors, set high standards, and inspire the next generation of girls and women in sports.

All GSCS weekend activities are cancelled for Saturday 1/31 and Sunday 2/1 due to anticipated weather conditions. No athletic games or practices should take place; no staff or students should be on campus. Stay warm!
