Volleyball and Football season is underway at GMS!

What a fun night as we kicked off the season by hosting our 8th grade football teams from ACMS and GCMS, along with a triangular featuring all three schools!

It was a great night of competition, teamwork, and school spirit—and even better to have all of Gretna’s 8th graders together!

Way to go, GMS! We’re excited for a great season!

Finishing up our new staff announcements with a big welcome back to Mrs. Hansen! We are so excited to have you as one of our 6th grade special education teachers!

“I love horses, hiking and spending time with my husband and all of our animals. My lovely husband and I have been married for 4 years. Family is very important to me, I have been blessed with 5 nieces and nephews. I am excited to return to GMS with all the amazing staff and students. GMS added one more Colgrove to our full-time staff this year, and we couldn’t be more excited! Ms. Colgrove was a paraprofessional with us last year, and this year she is our wonderful ACC teacher!

What a great first day at Gretna Middle School! It was so exciting to welcome our students back into the building and see the hallways filled with energy, smiles, and lots of excitement.

What a wonderful way to welcome our newest staff members to Gretna Public Schools!

Journey Church hosted a breakfast for our new staff, giving them an opportunity to connect, enjoy some time together, and start feeling at home in our community.

We are so excited to welcome these new members of the Gretna family and thankful for Journey Church and their support of our schools.

The wait is almost over! We are so excited to welcome all of our students back to Gretna Middle School for the 2026–27 school year!
