Opened in September of 1974, it has adopted as its guiding principle:

“Training today’s child for tomorrow’s adult”

Under direction of Mrs. Velma Friedman, Humpty Dumpty Day Nursery was started in 1969. After 5 years of providing daycare, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten services, Mrs. Friedman acquired the property located at 1503 Carol Sue Avenue, expanded the program to include first grade,

and Terrytown Academy was born. Upon the many requests of our parents, a grade a year was added to the Academy each year. The first eighth grade graduation was held in May of 1981.

🎉Congratulations to Our Former Student🎉

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the accomplishments of one of our amazing former students, Kayla Chacon, who attended TTA from Pre-K 3 through her 8th grade year as the Class of 2012.

She has continued to excel in her college journey and recently received her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Harding University.

Watching our students grow into successful, determined young adults is one of the greatest rewards of our work. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance are truly inspiring, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next. 💫
