Introducing Gretna Elementary School’s new outdoor classroom! We love this beautiful new space. Here are a few highlights:

🌾 The outdoor classroom includes an ADA-accessible table, making the space welcoming for all students.
🌾 The classroom was on our teachers’ wishlist and was paid for by those who donated to the Guardian Run and other PTO events.
🌾 This new space gives students and teachers a hands-on setting to enjoy the outdoors.

A special thank you to Cavanaugh LandEscapes for their incredible labor and design work, and to Rocky’s Stone & Design for donating the stone. We also want to give a shout out to Jeff and Sarah Wegner, a GES family who installed the tables and a drip irrigation system for the plantings. This project truly wasn’t possible without you.

We can’t wait to see all the learning and exploring that happen here!

We loved seeing so many families come out to enjoy some popsicles, participate in our Gretna gear swap and celebrate our new outdoor classroom!

GES families, you did it! Thanks to your generous donations, the staff lounge is stocked, organized and ready to welcome our awesome staff back for a new school year! 🍎

We also need volunteers to help with lounge cleaning and set-up on Sunday, August 9 from 3–6 p.m.

🎉💚 Celebrating Our 2026 Gretna Elementary PTO Scholarship Recipient! 💚🎉

We are incredibly proud to share that this year’s Gretna Schools Foundation scholarship—sponsored by the Gretna Elementary PTO—has been awarded to Sam Boeselager!

Sam is a proud Gretna Elementary School alum, and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer him on as he takes his next big step. This fall, Sam will be heading to Colorado State University to study construction management.

Please join us in congratulating Sam on this well‑deserved honor and wishing him all the success in the world as he begins his college journey. Way to go, Sam! 🎓✨
