Exactly two weeks from today, Apogee Omaha founders Eric & Nissa Cohen will march 50 miles in 22 hours from Lincoln to Omaha alongside about 175 others. 🇺🇸

They’re taking on the 50 Mile March to raise funds for the 50 Mile March Foundation and awareness for the challenges facing local veterans.

It’s a misogi challenge that reflects what we hope to model for our Leaders: do hard things, serve others, and put your values into action.

We're Hiring!

Do you believe kids learn best by doing? Are you the kind of person who asks questions instead of giving answers?

Apogee Omaha is growing and we're looking for a part-time Coach to work with our Trailblazer Squad (ages 8–11) Monday–Thursday.

This isn't traditional teaching. You'll facilitate Socratic discussions, guide project-based learning, and help young leaders build confidence, character, and ownership in a leadership-focused environment.

What we're looking for:
• Passion for working with kids
• Growth mindset
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience in education, coaching, or youth programs is a plus—but not required.

What we offer:

🚨 Apogee Omaha is headed to the Farmers Market of Gretna! 🚨

For the past several weeks, our leaders have been doing more than just learning about entrepreneurship—they've been living it.

They've brainstormed business ideas, pitched for startup funding, created products, solved problems, learned from mistakes, and built their own small businesses from the ground up.

Now it's time for the real test.

🛍️ Come shop handmade products created by our leaders (ages 6–13), encourage their hard work, and let them practice the confidence, communication, and resilience that come from serving real customers.

This week at Apogee Omaha, our leaders...

-Assembled tents
-Built survival shelters in 15 minutes
-Used a compass & road atlas
-Learned hands-only CPR + AED
-Constructed water filters
-Practiced jiu-jitsu
-Played "Go Fish" as a lesson in failing
-Planted a garden
-Learned to tie knots from an OFD rescue technician
-Went on a scavenger hunt to find water
-Answered the challenge to, "Create something!"
-Spent over 10 hours learning OUTSIDE
..and that was just in our afternoons!

Apogee Omaha believes that family sovereignty comes first. Parents will ALWAYS be the primary educators of their children.

On the first Friday of every month, we honor and celebrate this with our Family First Friday gatherings.

This month, parents joined their young leaders for lunch, outside free play, rest & digest and our afternoon huddle. The afternoon was filled with laughter, love, deep Socratic conversation, and shared community.

The leaders are proud to report that they "cooked" the parents in some two-hand touch football!

We’re intentionally building a space for:

• Kids who need movement
• Families who value growth over compliance

We spent a safe, intentional amount of time outside anyway.

Why? Because learning to tolerate reasonable discomfort builds confidence, resilience, and better decision-making. Kids don’t need to be protected from all discomfort—but they do need adults who model how to approach it wisely.

Bundle up. Go out.
Run. Tackle. Laugh. Play.
Pay attention. Come back in.
