6TH GRADE ORIENTATION INFO
Dear Future GMS 6th Grade Students and Families,
Welcome to middle school! We are excited to invite you to a 6th Grade Orientation at Gretna Middle School, where you will meet staff, explore the building, and learn what to expect as you begin this new chapter.
During orientation, you will:
Meet teachers, counselors, and administrators.
Tour the school, including classrooms, the cafeteria, gymnasium, and media center.
Learn about schedules, expectations, academics, attendance, clubs, athletics, and ways to be successful.
Have the opportunity to purchase swag, pay lab fees, ask questions, and connect with other incoming sixth-grade students.
Orientation Details:
Date: Thursday, July 30, 2026
Time: 10:00am - 11:00am or 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Location: Gretna Middle School
This orientation is not mandatory and does not replace open house or require an RSVP to attend, but we encourage all incoming sixth-grade students and their families to attend one of the scheduled sessions. We look forward to welcoming you to the Hawk family!
