Welcome to the Health, Physical Education, Athletics, Aquatics and Recreation (HPEAAR) Division. Health and physical education provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle that promotes physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. We offer outdoor classes such as rock climbing, backpacking, rafting, wilderness survival, and

wilderness medicine. HPEAAR also offers Red Cross First-aid and CPR certifications, Wilderness First Aid certifications, and Wilderness First Responder certifications. Some of our physical education classes include yoga, weight lifting, sport psychology, and drug education. In addition to these great classes, the HPEAAR offers a Fitness Professional certificate. The Fitness Professional certificate is designed to give individuals the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to become a fitness professional. Fitness/personal trainers guide, instruct and motivate clients to pursue goals through exercise programs as well as nutritional and lifestyle changes.
