The East Orient Elementary Events and School Spirit page is created and maintained by East Orient’s Elementary Events and School Spirit Page Facebook webmaster for the purpose of communicating with the parents of the children we serve and the East Orient Elementary School community. The East Orient Elementary Events and School Spirit page is provided for the East Orient Elementar

y community to share information on specific school topics of interest. We will update this page as often as possible to share as much as we can about East Orient Elementary School and the achievements of the students and staff as well as other relevant school community information. The intent of this policy is not to keep any negative or critical information from being posted, but to protect the privacy and rights of East Orient Elementary staff and students. Naming specific employees or students in a negative way will not be allowed. The page administrators will review all postings to ensure they do not run afoul of the rules nor of the school district’s Acceptable Use Guidelines regarding Internet access and practices. We welcome your thoughts and comments and look forward to what you have to say. However, we will not leave postings that:
• Break the law or encourage others to do so. If you are talking about somebody else’s work, reference this or the person, and where possible include a link.
• Contain abusive or inappropriate language or statements.
• Easily identify students and/or staff in defamatory, abusive, or generally negative terms.
• Do not show proper consideration for others’ privacy or are considered likely to offend or provoke others – i.e. don’t pick fights or goad others into inflammatory debates.
• Are spam – i.e. repeatedly posting the same comment or comments that are simply advertising/promoting a service or product. If you wouldn’t want to receive it yourself, don’t post it.
• Are political or religious in nature. The page administrators reserve the right to not post or to remove any comments at any time, for any reason…but we hope that will not ever be necessary. We also reserve the right to block individuals who misuse our page. If you have a comment or would like to report an inappropriate comment for us to review, send an email to [email protected]

Here is a note from our PTC about the Teddy Bear Parade this Saturday morning, we encourage you to wear East Orient gear or colors if possible (Green or Blue). Please see the attachments for more information and maps of the event.

We are SO excited to have you in the Soroptimist Teddy Bear Parade Saturday, September 27!! Please read this email carefully as it will tell you everything you need to know. Also, please forward this information to your marchers, so they know what to expect. We have 90 participants this year, so your help in making staging run smoothly is much appreciated!

Your Color Group: RED
Vehicles Arrive By: 8:30am
Marchers Arrive By: 9:30am
Please arrive at: Entrance B (enter at Powell & Main, travel up to 8th St)
Marcher Parking: Town Fair Center (by Pet Smart)
Additional rules & information attached.

ENTRY INTO EAST HILL: Please arrive at the time above and let your marchers know when to arrive. Once the parade concludes, all vehicles must be off property by 12:30pm, so East Hill can lock the gates.

BREAKFAST: We will have coffee and breakfast items for purchase on-site to make getting out of the house this early a little easier! 🙂 This is a fundraiser to help with our mission. (more on that - https://www.sigresham.org/about/our-work/).

TIMING OF PARADE: Volunteers with neon painted batons will be along the parade route to help lessen the gaps between groups. The batons will act as visual cues to let you know if you need to go faster or slower.

SAFETY: Please ensure you drive in a straight line through the parade route, do not move your vehicle side to side. Watch for children, and do not get too close or too far behind the vehicle/float in front of you. Let’s all work together to have a SAFE and FUN parade day!

PASSING OUT CANDY: PLEASE watch for children! Marchers should not reach into and grab more candy from a moving vehicle, this can be incredibly dangerous. Please help us keep this new tradition by being safe.

TEDDY BEAR DONATION: We will be accepting teddy bears for the TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) again this year. They requested 6-8” stuffed animals. All other sizes will be donated elsewhere. There will be bins at the registration table and around the Staging Area for collection of donations after the parade. Thank you!

We look forward to seeing you bright and early Saturday morning! Again, thank you for being in the parade, it truly is a blast raising community spirit with you all!
