A belated thank you to EVERYONE who came out to our Summer Welcome Party and sent off these seven incoming students to Berkeley in style. We loved showing off that they have a community here in the PNW that will stand by them on their journey and can't wait to see what they do at Cal!

Many of you have already signed up for tonight’s final free live watchalong of THE LAST CLASS film — about my final semester of teaching (after more than 40 years), and also about education, democracy, leadership, and the arc of life.

I’ll be joining Elliot Kirschner (the film’s director) and Heather Kinlaw Lofthouse (executive director of Inequality Media Civic Action and also the film’s producer), as we watch it along with you — starting TONIGHT at 5:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. ET.

We’ll introduce the film, offer a bit of commentary during it, and answer questions at the end. They’ll also show a sneak peek of our next film.

Big shout-out to everyone who stopped by the PDX Cal Alumni spot at Oregon Humane Society's Doggie Dash last weekend! We raised $375 to help all the good pups who need our help and got to enjoy some BEAUTIFUL PNW weather in the process!

We are planning to join the 9:30AM wave. We will be in touch with further information about where we'll be meeting up before the Dash.

JOIN US on Saturday, May 9 for our first community event of 2026: the annual Doggie Dash! There’s a 1.5-mile walk or a 2.5-mile run, food trucks, a dog agility course, family-friendly activities, live music, a libation station, contests, and a photo booth. We are aiming for the *9:30AM* start time. If you’re already running sol, you can still join our team and help us meet our fundraising goal!

We’ll provide further information about our meeting point before the Dash. Check the link in our bio for our team page!

We are organizing a PDX Cal Alumni group to participate in the Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash on Saturday, May 9th. This event takes place along the Tom McCall Waterfront Park and proceeds will go to the Oregon Humane Society.

There are two options; a 1.5 mile walk and a 2.5 mile run. If you are bringing a dog it must remain on a leash at all times. The event also includes food trucks, a dog agility course, family-friendly activities, live music, a libation station, contests, and a photo booth. There are waves of start times from 9AM to 10:15AM starting every 15 minutes.

We are planning to join the 9:30AM wave. If you sign up for the team we will be in touch with further information about where we'll be meeting up before the Dash.

Looking for weekend plans? It's not too late to get tickets to a special screening of Who's On Top Documentary, the exceptional film from PDX Cal Alum Devin Tau (). The screening will be at First United Methodist Church in SW Portland and will benefit PFLAG Portland.

Following the screening there will be a Q&A with Devin (Business, '97) as well as Stacey and Ryan from the film. Wear your Cal gear and let us know if you attend!
