As we wrap up another incredible school year at Kelly Creek Elementary, I want to take a moment to reflect on what a wonderful final week it has been!

This week was filled with celebration, and memories that our students will carry with them for years to come.

We enjoyed an amazing Rainy Field Day, a fun-filled Movie Day, and two very special promotion ceremonies as we celebrated our Kindergarten students taking their next big step and honored our 5th graders as they prepared to leave Kelly Creek and begin their middle school journey.

We were also fortunate to welcome Officer D**e from the Gresham Police Department, who spent time with our students sharing important summer safety reminders and helping our Cougars head into summer prepared and safe.

As my first year as principal at Kelly Creek comes to a close, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the school community and partners. From day one, you welcomed me into this special community, and I am grateful for the support, kindness, and dedication you show our students every day.

We wish all of our Cougars a safe, fun, and relaxing summer. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back next fall for another great year of learning, leading, and growing together.

Sometimes Field Day doesn’t go exactly as planned… and that’s okay!

While the weather had other ideas for us today, our Kelly Creek Cougars showed incredible flexibility, positive attitudes, and school spirit as we shifted to our rainy-day Field Day plan. From games and activities throughout the building to plenty of smiles, laughter, and friendly competition, our students still had a fantastic day together.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff for their creativity, teamwork, and willingness to adapt on the fly. We are also grateful to our parent volunteers and families for supporting today’s events and helping make the day a success.

At Kelly Creek, we know that sometimes the best memories come from making the most of unexpected situations. Today was a great example of our school community coming together and making it a fun day for kids.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Kelly Creek Community Picnic today!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and it was great to see so many students, families, and staff spending time together outside of the school day. Events like this are a wonderful reminder of the strong community that makes Kelly Creek such a special place.

A big thank you to our PTC for organizing and hosting the event. Their work made it possible for families to simply bring a blanket or chair, enjoy some music, connect with friends, and spend time together.

We appreciate everyone who came out and helped make the afternoon such a success.

Today at Kelly Creek Elementary, we celebrated our schoolwide PBIS reward with a “Fancy Lunch Day” and Dress Your Best celebration!

Students walked into the cafeteria to find white tablecloths, candles, flowers in vases, and relaxing music playing during lunch. The reactions from students were absolutely priceless. Smiles, excitement, and so many comments about how “fancy” and special it felt filled the room all day long.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our students for being safe, respectful, and responsible while also creating a memorable experience together as a school community.

A huge thank you to our staff for helping create such a fun and meaningful experience for our students. Kelly Creek students truly rose to the occasion and looked amazing in their dress-your-best outfits today!

What an awesome Jog-a-Thon day at Kelly Creek!

Our superhero theme made the day extra fun, and our students brought so much energy, excitement, and school spirit. The weather was perfect, and it was wonderful to see our school community come together in support of our students.

A huge thank you to our PTC for doing such a fantastic job organizing and supporting this event. We are also so grateful for our volunteers, visiting family members, teachers, and staff who helped make the day run smoothly and feel so special for our kids.

This fundraiser helps support field trips for next school year, and we are thankful for every family who is able to participate. Please check your email for pledge sheet information, and consider supporting the Jog-a-Thon if you are able.

What a wonderful way to wrap up our first year of 24 Math (3rd grade-5th grade) at Kelly Creek!

We had an incredible response this year, with an average of more than 23 students staying after school each Monday and Thursday to spend time together practicing math, building confidence, and challenging themselves.

Over the last several weeks, it has been so fun to watch students grow. They stayed engaged, showed perseverance, practiced patience, and demonstrated grit, important life skills that go well beyond math.

Today, we held our semifinal rounds and championship final. Congratulations to our top finishers:

🥉 3rd Place: Edward
🏅 4th Place: Jonah

All of our semifinalists and finalists did a wonderful job. They showed strong sportsmanship, healthy competition, and a lot of focus throughout the tournament.

A huge thank you to our families for supporting this opportunity and for picking students up after each session. Your support made it possible for students to participate and enjoy this experience.

We are already looking forward to next year’s 24 Math! What a great first year at Kelly Creek.

A sweet way to celebrate reading at Kelly Creek Elementary! 🍦📚

We celebrated our Read-a-Thon with a special ice cream party for students who read more than 300 minutes. It was wonderful to see so many students recognized for their hard work, dedication, and love of reading. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and excitement as students celebrated together.

A huge thank you to our amazing PTC for organizing such a fun and successful event. The setup, treats, and support helped make the celebration extra special for our students.

We are so proud of all of our readers and the strong reading culture we continue to build together at Kelly Creek. We already can’t wait for next year’s Read-a-Thon! 🐾

Today our Kelly Creek students and staff helped beautify the front of our school by planting flowers for our whole community to enjoy. This is one of several special activities happening around Kelly Creek this week as we celebrate Earth Day and think about how we can care for our school and community.

A big thank you to Mrs. White for organizing this event and helping bring it all together. We are also grateful to Tony’s for generously donating the flowers.

Our Student Store was a big success today!

It was great to see students using their Cougar Coins and being celebrated for showing safe, respectful, and responsible behavior at school.

As we head into the final stretch of the year, we want to keep finishing strong and continue recognizing students for making positive choices each day.

Thank you to our parent volunteers and upper grade students for helping make the Student Store such a success. We appreciate you!
