Our Buena Vista PTA spoiled the staff today with a catered lunch from Tropical Grille, homemade desserts, and fun surprises!

A special thank you to PTA Co-Presidents Alicia Kamlet and Sarah Whitmire as they leave Buena Vista after years of service. Their love for students and dedication to putting kids first has made a lasting impact on our Bobcat community.

Yesterday’s EDP end of year celebration was the perfect way to celebrate a year of friendships, laughter, memories, and incredible mentors, many of them Forever Bobcats. A huge thank you to Ms. Danielle and the EDP team for the love and energy they pour into our students each day.

This school year, fifth graders Emerson and Amelia created Buena Vista’s Kindness Club with one simple goal, to spread kindness throughout our school and community. Entirely student-led and supported by BV administration, these students have turned their ideas into meaningful action.

From creating and delivering cards to nursing homes, to leading student scenarios focused on preventing bullying and encouraging kindness, the Kindness Club is making an impact across our school. They also created our Kindness Box, where students can give shoutouts to one another that are shared on BVTV News, and even added kindness stickers to our Valentine’s Day Candy Grams.

Today, Emerson and Amelia visited our local fire station to personally deliver cards and share heartfelt words of appreciation with our firefighters and first responders. Their beautiful speech reminded us all how important it is to recognize the everyday heroes who serve our community.

We are so proud of these student leaders for using their voices and leadership to help make Buena Vista and our community a kinder place.

If you’ve been around Buena Vista over the last 13 years, chances are Melissa Bache has been part of your Buena Vista story in some way. Whether she was volunteering, planning events, supporting students and staff, leading PTA, helping with Master Minds, organizing Carnival, or making Field Day such a special tradition alongside Coach Yerrick, Melissa has poured her heart into Buena Vista for more than a decade.

Over the years, she has served as PTA President, PTA Vice President, SIC President, PTA Room Mom, Carnival Chair, and Master Minds Chair — always willing to step in wherever needed. But if you asked Melissa, she would probably tell you her greatest role of all has been being Adam, Maddie, Terry, Owen, and Zachary’s mom.

Coach Yerrick, along with the Buena Vista staff, would like to personally thank Melissa Bache for her years of service, love, and dedication to Buena Vista. Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat.
