Could your 4-year-old qualify for free, full-day 4K? 🌟

For FY 2026–2027, First Steps 4K provides free, full-day kindergarten (4K) for eligible South Carolina 4-year-olds. Families may qualify with household income up to 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Important: 300% is an income-eligibility threshold, not 300% of tuition covered. Eligibility, documentation, funding, and program requirements apply, so please verify current details directly with SC First Steps.

If your family qualifies, this support may help reduce out-of-pocket preschool and child-care costs. Greenville Preparatory Preschool is proud to be a First Steps 4K provider in Greer, SC! 💛

Fire safety can be taught with calm, simple routines that help little learners feel safe and confident! 🔥🚒 During October’s Fire Safety Month, we practice age-appropriate skills like listening for the smoke alarm and learning “stop, drop, and roll” in a gentle, reassuring way. 🧡 At home, invite your child to practice walking calmly to your family meeting place when they hear the smoke alarm. Where is your family’s safe meeting spot? 🏠✨

Crunch, rustle, discover! 🍂🔍 Our preschoolers at Greenville Preparatory Preschool in Greer, SC, are exploring the beauty of autumn one leaf, acorn, and pinecone at a time! 🍁💛

As children collect colorful leaves and investigate natural treasures with magnifying glasses, they’re learning to notice seasonal changes, compare textures and colors, ask questions, and share new observations with friends. These outdoor discoveries support sensory learning, curiosity, vocabulary, and growing language skills, all through hands-on play! 🌿✨

The little moments matter. 💛

A caring teacher who listens, encourages, and meets a child at eye level helps them feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. From trying something new to sharing a thoughtful idea, children build confidence when they know a trusted adult is cheering them on. 🌱
