Hi PGES Families!

It’s almost Fun Run time! 🐾 We’re excited to share some changes we’re making to the 2026 PGES Fun Run that will allow even more of the money our students raise to stay right here at Pleasant Grove!

💙 BIG CHANGES. MORE FUN. MORE MONEY STAYS AT PGES!

This year, we are moving away from the traditional individual prize system used in previous Fun Runs.

By making this change, PGES will keep an additional 20% of Fun Run profits this year! We have set a school goal of $50,000.

That means more of every dollar our students work so hard to raise can go directly back to our school and support things that benefit ALL PGES students, including:

🛝 Playground equipment
🚌 More affordable field trips
🎉 Free family events
💙 Other programs and improvements for our students and school

We still want the Fun Run to be exciting for our kids, so we’ve created lots of new ways to celebrate their hard work!

🎁 EVERY STUDENT GETS SOMETHING!

Every PGES student will receive a:

PGES bracelet
Fun Run sticker
2026 Fun Run Trading Card
PGES Fun run Tshirt for day of run

Prizes (with the exception of the shirt)
will be handed out by teachers throughout the fundraiser at their discretion to help build excitement!

🎉 FUN RUN CELEBRATIONS

Instead of traditional individual prizes, students will work together toward some pretty exciting celebrations!

100% Class Registration
🍿 Every class reaching 100% registration earns a PTO-sponsored popcorn party!

Top-Earning Class
🏆 The class raising the most money receives the 2026 Fun Run Trophy AND a 6 Degrees Sno Balls Party!

Top-Earning Grade
🍕 The grade raising the most money earns a pizza party!

Top 10 Fundraisers
🍔 Our Top 10 individual fundraisers will receive a PTO-sponsored lunch with Mr. Kelly and a special thank-you from PTO and Administration!

And that’s not all — students will also be working together toward school-wide fundraising goals, with celebrations like Pajama Day, Hat Day, Favorite Team Jersey Day, Mismatch Day, and Bring a Stuffy to School Day!

August 27 – Digital Kickoff 📱
Our fundraising site goes live and families can begin registering and sharing!

September 8 – Official Fun Run Kickoff 🐾
We’ll officially kick off the Fun Run excitement at school!

September 17 – FUN RUN! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
The big day!

September 18 – Fun Run Celebration Day! 🎉
We’ll celebrate everything our students accomplished together!

🙋‍♀️ WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

The Fun Run is one of our biggest events of the year, and we’ll need plenty of parent volunteers to help make September 17 a great day for our students!

Volunteer sign-ups will be sent out next week.

Please remember that all Fun Run volunteers must have a completed and approved background check on file with the school in order to volunteer. If you’re hoping to join us, please make sure your background check is completed ahead of time!

We are incredibly excited about this year’s Fun Run and especially excited that these changes mean an additional 20% of the profits can stay right here at PGES.

💙 The PG Spotlight shines bright on these 3! 💙
5th Grader Kinsley Hock: At Pleasant Grove, our school theme is BE the One! Be the one that is kind, be the one that works hard, be the one that has grit, be the one who makes a difference. Kinsley has been the ONE from the time she set foot at our school. She always greets everyone with a smile, kindness, and a selfless heart that is always willing to help someone out. She is an awesome role model and is always dependable and responsible.
Nurse Toni Newlon: Toni brings vibrancy to the job each and every day. She is kind, courteous, down to earth, hard working, fun, and literally dances through life. She is the calm during a storm and handles emergencies with grace. Everyone needs a teammate that makes you smile and brings a energy and life to a school day - for us at Pleasant Grove, that person is Toni.
3rd Grade Teacher Jennifer Webb: Jen is such a positive leader and teammate at Pleasant Grove. She is humble, kind, generous with her time, a mentor, a hard worker, a skilled technician in the classroom, a positive beacon, a natural in the classroom, and chooses to be a lifelong learner. She sets the model of what to expect as a professional educator.
