Greenwood Community School Corporation is proud to announce the formation of the Greenwood Education Foundation. With everyone’s help we will be even better!

Initiated by Dr. DeKoninck at the beginning of this school year, a Board of Directors has been chosen and the group has been hard at work building a strong framework for the venture. In the near future we will be inviting all friends, alumni and local businesses to join us in creating a path to a brighter future for our schools, staff and students. We have a dead heat in the race for Most Participation!

The Classes of '71, '72, '80, '85, and '94 are currently tied for the lead. Which class will break away from the pack and claim bragging rights as Greenwood’s "Best Class"?

Participation matters just as much as dollars raised. Whether your gift is large or small, every donor helps move your class closer to the trophy while supporting programs that benefit students across all six Greenwood schools.

Donations must be received by July 1. Who's going to take the lead?

The GEF proudly awards $950 to the Clem Kindness Crew at Southwest Elementary.

This project expands a current SEL initiative into a student led, school wide kindness and emotional wellness program. The vision is to create opportunities for students to practice social and emotional skills while positively impacting the school community. Students will get to act as leaders, and will plan and promote kindness, emotional awareness and positive relationships. The program currently has begun with the Popcorn Parlor and students in the school who are recognized for acts of kindness get popcorn on Fridays. The funds will be used to expand the program to a Kindness Cart and Kindness Wall in the school.

The support offered to GEF allow us to fund a wide array of grants including STEM, art, music, and ALL the things in between!

This year, all four elementary music teachers collaborated on a grant project that brought hands-on experience with pianos to ALL FOUR elementary buildings in Greenwood. Students put these skills to use learning the keys, reading notes, and wrapping up the school year with a mock piano recital!

Thank you to The Mockingbird Foundation for your support of the Greenwood Education Foundation and helping to fund this grant concept!

The race for Greenwood alumni "Best Class" is officially on!

Right now, the Class of '94 is leading the way for Most Funds Raised thanks to the latest donation made by Brian Brames, but there’s still plenty of time for another class to take the top spot. Every donation made by July 1 counts toward your class total and helps support Greenwood students and teachers through the Greenwood Education Foundation.

Your gift helps fund innovative classroom grants, student scholarships, winter coats, food assistance, haircuts, and more.

Will your class rise to the challenge? Make your donation today and help bring home the trophy! Pictured is last year's class winner of '91.

PS- Be sure grab you tickets to the All Class Reunion Dinner held on July 18th this year! Tickets can be found on the GEF website under the "Alumni" tab.

The GEF is thrilled to congratulate Ashley Freije and Will Foot at Westwood Elementary on receiving $584.67 in grant funding to support "Sailing Through Social Studies."

This grant will help bring knowledge and fun to the classroom though the game of Battleship! 5th graders will be engaged in strategic fun as they learn lessons on longitude, latitude, and coordinates on maps- now that's a real world application!

School might be out, but the hallways are still getting a makeover!

Thanks to the support of Walmart's Spark Good grant program, the GHS 2D art students were able to purchase projectors and art supplies to help them create murals in and around the building.
