Ann Scott Snead Obituary
Ann Scott Snead went to heaven in a bit of a hurry. She loved her children, grandchildren, friends, and her husband of 42 years, James Kirby Snead. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School, Lander College (BA), and University of Georgia (Masters in Art). She taught Art for 40 years at Lander University, in Ninety Six, and at Emerald Junior High School where she inspired and encouraged hundreds of students. She and Jimmy loved to travel alone, with groups, and often with no reservations. They loved to dance and enjoyed time in the mountains and the beach. She was an avid gardener and rescued many animals. She was the past President of the Ivy Garden Club and on the Flower Committee at First Baptist Church.
She also served on the Board of The Greenwood Museum where she often volunteered, and where she helped to revitalize dynamic displays that highlight the history of Greenwood County and Upstate South Carolina. She was never sick until this illness, and she believed this was God's perfect timing and looked forward to what God had in store for her.
She was the only child of Alice Seal Scott Beaudrot and Charles Louis Beaudrot. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children -- Seal Nisbet Wilson, Catherine Beaudrot Nisbet Goins (Stephen), Margaret Allison Snead Patrick (Richard), and seven grandchildren -- Walker Snead Patrick, Chandler Josey Patrick, Ann Sloan Wilson, Mary Ellis Goins, Claire Scott Goins Pruitt (Hayes), Sarah Grace Goins, and Anna Charles Goins. In addition are her cousin Kathy Hannah Marrelli (Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
A Celebration Reception will be July 5, 2:30 - 3:30pm in the Fellowship Hall at The First Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC.
Donations may be made to the Alice Scott Beaudrot Scholarship through the Lander Foundation or to a charity of choice.
