Greenwood School District 50 The mission of Greenwood School District 50 is to educate, empower, and enable all students to achieve personal excellence in a global society.

Greenwood School District 50 is the largest of three school districts in Greenwood County. Greenwood is located in western South Carolina in the beautiful Lakelands area of the Piedmont Plateau. The city is 74 miles west of Columbia, the state capital, 121 miles southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina, and 148 miles northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. The district is governed by an elected nine-member B

oard of Trustees. The Board generally meets on the third Monday of each month in the Genesis Education Center Board Room, 400 Glenwood Street. Board seats are filled during single member district elections in November.
