💈Barbershops have always been more than places for a haircut — they’re centers of healing, hope, and opportunity.

At Mended Arrows Academy of Barbering, we’re helping cities, public health departments, and violence prevention agencies reimagine the role of barbers as frontline community healers and catalysts for change.

Through our Healing-Centered Barber Training, we equip barbers and stylists to recognize trauma, de-escalate conflict, and connect clients to local resources — transforming barbershops into safe spaces that prevent violence before it starts.

We also understand that violence is often rooted in economics.
That’s why our Barberpreneur Workforce Development & Apprenticeship Program gives justice-involved individuals and at-risk youth and young adults a real pathway to stability and purpose — teaching personal development, entrepreneurship, and barbering skills that lead to meaningful careers.

We’re currently expanding this movement to cities like St. Louis, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Milwaukee, partnering with local agencies, community organizations, and city leaders to strengthen violence prevention and build economic resilience through barbering.

✨ Giving Tuesday | Healing Our Communities, One Haircut at a Time ✨

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday — a national moment where generosity meets purpose — and I’m inviting my LinkedIn community to stand with us in the mission of Mended Arrows Academy of Barbering

At Mended Arrows, we believe the barber chair is more than a seat. It is a place of healing, mentorship, mental health advocacy, and restoration. Many of the youth and young adults we serve have experienced trauma, instability, or a lack of guidance — but when they sit in that chair, they are seen, heard, and valued.

Barbers trained to advocate for mental health, provide mentorship, and create safe, healing-centered spaces in our communities.

✂️ Support 60 Opportunity Youth
Through our Barberpreneur Program — offering workforce development, entrepreneurship training, and personal development for youth and justice-involved young adults.

✂️ Provide 400 Free T(hair)apy Haircuts
Each haircut becomes a moment of dignity, confidence, and emotional support — sometimes the only safe space a young person has.
