It's a fact—parents are the most formative influence on kids' money smarts.

No surprise there! Children absorb and imitate almost everything their parents do.

And money is no different. How you think about and use money will likely dictate how your children think about and use money.

What are you teaching your children about their finances? Are you teaching them how to save, spend, and build wealth?

Or are you leaving their financial education to the school system or social media influencers?

It starts with you. Learn how money works so you can model financial literacy for your loved ones. It's never too early (or late) to start!

There's no better sign that a system is broken than fear.

According to research, 44% of men and 36% of women fear retirement more than death.*

Why? Because they're afraid of running out of money.

Make no mistake, the thought of growing old is scary.

But it shouldn't be because of your finances.

My mission is to eradicate that fear from as many people's lives as I can.

That's why I'm teaching people how money works. Because I believe that if people have the right knowledge, they can start making informed decisions. They can finally take action.

And taking action is the way to conquer fear.

Despite what the ads tell you, needing to rework your kitchen's slightly mismatched color scheme isn't an emergency.

Neither is your lack of a NASA-designed drinks cooler. Even if it's on clearance.

Your emergency fund isn't for shopping sprees, no matter how great the sale is. It's to cover broken bones, burst pipes, and blown head gaskets—so you don't have to compromise your savings plan.

So if your emergency fund seems to be leaking cash, try opening a separate account just for rainy days. Remember, the goal is for the money in your emergency fund to be accessible, but not tempting.

Cover emergencies as they arise, then restock your account with money each month until it's full again.

Now you've created a financial buoy to keep your finances afloat when the storms blow through. Then you can get to work saving up for that dream kitchen!
