As negotiations continue for a global , influences of polluting industries in the negotiation process could water down what could be this generation’s most crucial legally binding instrument to end plastic pollution.

Will governments heed the call of civil society and marginalized voices to cap plastic production and stop harmful techno-fixes that threaten communities and public health?

Waste Not Want Not.
Meet Bright Feeds, the cutting-edge solution to food waste you need to know more about.

Fairfield County Look

Waste Not Want Not Meet Bright Feeds - Fairfield County Look It’s been 53 years since the first Earth Day, for many of us growing up in the early 70s, mealtime was infused with parental cajoling cliches like “waste not want not” and “eat everything on your plate, there are starving children in Africa.” Wasting food was egregious.

CT Legislature is considering waste prevention bills:
HB6481
HB6606
HB6608

These bills will:
- Ease municipalities waste management budgets
- Protect human health
- Protect wildlife
- Protect the environment
- Protect the communities where plastics are sourced, processed, buried and burned.
- Reduce the number of pollutants you pick up on beach, waterway and green space clean ups.

Ask your CT legislators to support these bills.

Skip the Stuff bill reducing unnecessary single use plastic waste - Intro 559-A - was signed today in NYC!

This bill will prohibit restaurants and food delivery platforms from providing eating utensils, extra eating containers, condiment packets and napkins to@customers for take-out and delivery orders. Unless specifically asked for by customers.

Half of global plastic production is for single-use applications, and only 14% of plastic packaging is collected for recycling. Even vastly improved rates alone would not be enough to curb the plastic waste crisis.
🐳🐳🐳
The shift towards reuse is still in its early stages, but there is growing ambition from the public and the private sector to advance it as an alternative to single-use, as it holds the key to achieving a world free of plastic waste.
🐳🐳🐳
Local, State and National policies can accelerate the transition to reusable packaging formats but governments, businesses and civil society organizations must work together to create clear targets and action plans.

Single use plastic waste “management” is a $$$ problem for cities and harmful to the health of our cities, residents, habitats and eco systems.

Don’t continue to “mis-manage” this useless waste, stop it before it starts.

Greenwich tackled plastic bag use in 2018, loopholes were closed.

Now let’s stop the styrofoam!
