Last week was an immersion in Zoroastrian religion and architecture! Launched the week with a special visit to the Dar E Mehr Zoroastrian Temple alongside SSS colleague, friend, and architect Cyrus Rivetna. Thank you to ZAGNY for your gracious hospitality!
It was a meaningful experience to finally step into this sacred space, only 40 minutes away, to appreciate its sense of simplicity and tranquility, and to contemplate one of the world's most ancient monotheistic religions.
Touring the temple I found this copy of the Cyrus Cylinder -- often known as the First Charter of Human Rights -- on a table in one of the lounge areas, an ancient call for religious freedom and coexistence.
We gathered for a salon on Zoroastrian architecture and how the work of Sharing Sacred Spaces builds interreligious understanding later that evening. More posts on that to come!
