The TRPO performed the interactive educational program, “Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage,” in two concerts today for over 1,000 fifth-graders from Rocky Mount public schools at the Dunn Center for the Performing Arts! We had two highly talented actors from Chicago in costumes as guests, featuring Mozart’s music and stories from his life. Great fun! Thanks to General Manager Jennifer Harris and Music Director Al Sturgis! Great to work with our excellent colleagues—so much beautiful playing, such beautiful music!

Many congratulations to the fabulous flute section of the ECU Symphonic Wind Ensemble on their amazing performance Monday night at Wright Auditorium! Their rendition of the Bernstein Symphonic Dances from West Side Story was spectacular, and George Walker’s “Lyric” utterly lovely. The Panther Creek High School Wind Ensemble flutes sounded great, what a terrific partnership!

Keilie Perry*—was born in “Music City,” Nashville, TN, and moved with her family to the Charleston, SC, area where she grew up. She began playing the flute in her sixth-grade band and continued through middle and high school. She studied Wildlife Biology at Charleston Southern University with a music minor. Over time, Keilie found that she loved the flute and flute playing so much that she wanted to continue and decided to audition for the Master of Music in flute performance degree at ECU, among others. We are so happy that you chose to continue your flute studies with us, Keilie, very welcome!
