Help us connect our students with your community organizations!

We’re putting together a “Flyer Fair” for elementary families at this year’s Hallway Walk! Our goal is to help connect Greenville families with local activities and organizations that offer opportunities for students outside of school.

If you have a flyer you’d like us to include, please send it to [email protected] as soon as possible!

Don’t worry if you don’t already have a flyer, we can create one for you with some basic information like your organization’s name, the ages of students who can participate, and when your activity takes place.

We’ll also collect contact information from families who are interested in learning more about your organization. We’ll provide you with a list of interested families so you can reach out when it’s time to register or sign up!

We’d love to help connect our students with all the great opportunities happening right here in our community.

Flyers must be in keeping with our Flyer Distribution requirements: GCSD will not consider flyers that promote or advertise for-profit services, merchandise, and/or businesses, are in conflict/competition with District programs, are associated with political campaigns, or promote any type of religious affiliation.

THE ELLIS HALLWAY WALK IS BACK!

On Thursday, September 3, 2026, students and families are invited to visit Ellis during one of two convenient time slots: 9:00-11:00 a.m. or 4:00-6:00 p.m. There is no sign-up required, simply stop by during the time slot that works best for your family.

The Hallway Walk is designed to help students reacclimate to school, refamiliarize themselves with the building, and ease those back-to-school jitters. Students will embark on a Spartan-themed scavenger hunt throughout the school before finishing their adventure in the gym, where they can enjoy a back-to-school photo and some fun activities.

FLYER FAIR
We’ll also host a Flyer Fair in the gym, giving families an opportunity to learn about clubs, activities, and organizations available in our community outside of school. If you are a Greenville-based organization and have a flyer you’d like posted, please email Sierra Pizzola at [email protected].

MEET & GREET
Principal Rachel Harvey and Superintendent Rachel Anderson will be at both Hallway Walk sessions to welcome students and families, answer questions, and help everyone get excited for the new school year!

EVENT REMINDERS
Please note that classrooms will not be open for tours or school supply drop-off during the Hallway Walk. Teachers will not be in attendance. This is a family event, drop-offs are not permitted.

Sixth Grade Locker Day will be Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

There is no set schedule during this two-hour window, so students may arrive at any time between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to practice opening their lockers.

Learning to use a locker is often one of the biggest challenges for students entering sixth grade. To help make the transition easier, several middle school students will be available to assist with lockers and provide tours of the building. Student schedules with their locker numbers and locker combinations will be mailed out towards the end of August but will also be available on tables as you enter the middle school. Students are also welcome to bring locker supplies and organize their lockers during this time.

As your child prepares to begin middle school in September, please do not hesitate to contact Brian Reeve, MS Principal, with any questions or concerns - [email protected].

If you are unable to attend the sixth-grade locker day, you are welcome to stop by on Tuesday, September 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., when seventh- and eighth-grade students will also be in the building.

We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday, September 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This is the final week for summer meals, check out the menu below!

Each day, one breakfast menu item will be available (that item is now noted on the menu). Additionally, milk choices are subject to availability by our dairy distributors. Some milk types may not be available each day.
Pick Up Times
Breakfast and/or lunch can be picked up anytime BETWEEN 10 AM AND 12 PM. Breakfast and lunch can be picked up at the same time - no need to stop by the school twice.

Pick Up Location
AT 10 AM and 12 PM, cafeteria staff will be waiting by the front door of the high school with pre-packaged breakfasts and lunches. Simply pull into the circle (no need to get the kids out of the car), grab the meals, and go - easy as that!
BETWEEN 10 AM and 12 PM, the breakfasts and lunches can be picked up in the cafeteria by entering through the high school front doors, or by driving around to the back of the high school (toward the tennis courts) and ringing the kitchen doorbell (on Door #17) - cafeteria staff will bring the meals out to the sidewalk.

Students Who Qualify
Any Greenville student entering UPK-12 can visit the high school to pick up a summer meal. Sign-ups are not required. Recent graduates (Class of 2026) are not included in this federally funded Summer Meals program. Students do not need to be enrolled in summer tutoring to receive meals.

Students Present for Pickup
Students are not required to be present for pickup, although it is preferred if they are. If you are picking up for your child(ren), just let our Food Service Supervisor, Tracy Churchill, know the names of the students you’re picking up for when you arrive.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to get the program off the ground this summer...see you in a few weeks!
