Congrats to Henry Niehaus on his Senior Recital tonight! Very proud of his work! Also, thanks go out to his colleagues, Ryan Howard, Adam Alvarado, and Wes Baldwin on their performance in a quartet with Henry! And a huge "thank you" to Dr. Vivian Hamilton for her marvelous piano work!

The Furman Music Low Brass Studio is excited to introduce incoming freshman trombone/euphonium player, Wesley Baldwin. Wes comes to Furman from Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He served in several leadership positions in that program and was the Brass Captain in the 2022 season where his band was the Gold Medalist in AAAAA for SCBDA. Wes studied trombone with Steve Spaulding and was a member of the SC All-State Bands and All-State Bands during his high school career. He will study trombone and music composition at Furman. Welcome to the Furman Family, Wes!

The Furman Music Low Brass Studio is excited to introduce incoming freshman tubist, Benjamin Sullins! Ben comes to us from Walker Valley High School in Cleveland, TN. Ben attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts in 2022 and was a member of the East Tennessee Band and Orchestra each of his high school years. He studied tuba with Stephanie Haun. Ben is an Eagle Scout and was a founding member of his school’s Science Bowl team. In addition to his tuba study at Furman, Ben will major in one of the applied sciences. Welcome to the Furman Family, Ben!

The Furman Music Low Brass Studio is excited to introduce incoming freshman tubist/bass trombonist, Caleb Hunt. Caleb comes to us from Silver Bluff High School and studied tuba with Everette “Sparky” Noel. He served in several leadership positions with his program and has been a member of SCBDA Region Bands since 2018. Caleb will study both music and military science while at Furman. At Silver Bluff he was student body president (Junior year) and an executive officer in the National Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. Welcome to the Furman Family, Caleb!

The Furman Music Low Brass Studio is excited to introduce incoming freshman trombonist, Adam Alvarado! Adam comes to us from the Powdersville High School Band (2022 SCBDA AAA Bronze Medalist) where he was the Brass Captain. He was a member of the SCBDA All-State Bands and All-State Jazz Bands, as well as the South Carolina Youth Wind Ensemble. Adam studied trombone during high school with Steve Wilson and performed with the Wind Ensemble at Anderson University. Welcome to the Furman Family, Adam!
