Congratulations to Professor John Tucker, who was the the keynote speaker for the Japan Foundation Japan Fellows Symposium, co-sponsored by the University of Tokyo's Institute for Advanced Studies of Asia, and held on the UT campus at the Ito International Center on July 27, 2026!!

A $25,000 America 250! Scholarship from the Daughters of the American Revolution will cover the cost of tuition for incoming East Carolina University graduate student Owen Nance, of Eden, NC.

Nance begins his studies for the Master of Arts degree in the ECU Department of History in August. He believes that studying history reminds us to be hopeful about the future. After completing his degree, Nance would like to teach history courses at a local community college.
