A freezer stash can bring peace of mind for returning to work, appointments, or just having backup milk on hand. The good news? You donโt need hundreds of ounces - a little at a time adds up!

Add 1 extra pumping session per day after your morning feed when supply is naturally higher. Even ยฝ - 1oz per day builds quickly.

Some moms experience a strong letdown on the opposite side from where their baby is feeding. Use a milk collector to catch that letdown that would otherwise be lost โ many parents collect ยฝ-2oz per feeding without extra pumping. You can also put the milk collector on after baby has fed to collect any leftover milk.

Wait until your milk supply is well-established (about 3-6 weeks) to avoid creating an oversupply, engorgement or clogged ducts. Gentle and steady wins!

Most families only need 1-3 days of milk stored. Example:
-25-30 oz per day for older babies
-10-15 oz for younger babies
Thatโs usually 30-90 oz total โ very doable!

Store 2-4oz portions so you only thaw what you need and avoid waste.
โจ Pro tip: A freezer stash is backup milk โ not a measure of success. Your body keeps making milk every day. โจ

Breastfeeding isnโt just beneficial for baby, it supports momโs health too! โจ
When you breastfeed, your body releases oxytocin, which:
- Helps your uterus contract and reduce postpartum bleeding
- Supports emotional bonding
- Can lower stress levels
Long-term, breastfeeding is associated with:
- Lower risk of breast cancer
- Lower risk of ovarian cancer
- Reduced risk of type 2 diabetes
- Improved heart health
- Support in postpartum recovery
Breastfeeding also burns extra calories and helps regulate hormones during the postpartum transition!
And just as important! Maternal mental health matters. Feeding support, community, and realistic expectations make all the difference. No mom should navigate it alone! ๐คฑ
Breastfeeding is powerful, but so is informed, supported choice.
