Last week, our freshmen and new high school students walked through the Red Door, and it made us think of all our alumni. Every fall, a new group steps into our shared history, walking the same path you once walked. No matter how many years have passed, you will always be a cherished part of our story.

Alumni Christian Frank ('22) and Patricio Ayala ('23), and former SJCS student Paul Leong were among the many men who attended the Emmaus Retreat at Heartridge Retreat Center this month. Christian shared, “The Emmaus retreat was a great way to re-light the fire in my heart for Christ especially during this transitional stage in my life.”

We love watching our students continue to grow and live out their faith long after graduation.

Over the summer, English Department Chair Mr. Kenneth Covington visited SJCS graduate Father Augustine (Philip) Wilmeth at the Abbey of St. Benedict in Norcia, Italy, for the feast of Corpus Christi (June 4). Fr. Augustine ('09) is the prior, novice master, brewmaster and headmaster of the small abbey school. More information about the abbey can be found at https://en.nursia.org/.

The SJCS swim team had its annual Alumni Meet on August 5 at Spaulding Farm Pool. Ten alumni joined members of the current team, and everyone had a great time playing water polo, competing in relays and eating pizza. The Knights' first meet of the season will be the Splashdown at Greenville Aquatic Center on Saturday, August 22. The girls team has won back-to-back Class 3A state titles, and the boys have been state runners-up two years in a row.

Several Saint Joseph's football alumni showed up and showed out for our inaugural Punt, Pass, & Kick competition! Seeing these Knights come together alongside our middle and high school families made the day a massive success. We couldn’t be more grateful for everyone's support of our football program! 🏈
