A **Haircut Matrix** is a structured reference system barbers use to plan and deliver consistent cuts. It maps out the key variables that define any haircut.

Many of the people, young and old, seeking success today want it on their terms. They think that being your own boss means you can sleep late and come in when you want to. They expect success and money to pour in after just a few months of work. Some get off track and come back only to find themselves further away from the goal. Most aren't teachable, they're slothful and looking for the shortcut, the easy way, the hook up. Family members especially feel a sense of entitlement, which causes them to have no clue how to maintain what blood, sweat and tears put in place.
Building a business is not easy. It requires a lot of work, a lot of sacrifice, and the ability to stay focused. This work is not for the sensitive or the faint of heart. You'd better get up, dust yourself off and get back in the game if you want to win.

Barbers are hurting, because many of them have priced themselves out of the market. The nation is in a tailspin economically and people are struggling to maintain their normal lifestyles. So what did barbers do at a time when the economy showed signs of weakness? They raised their prices. Yep, at a time when people were struggling to keep a roof over their heads, barbers started asking $75 - $100 for a basic haircut. This was bad timing and why many barbers have seen half of their clientele disappear in the last 12 months.
Let me tell you how this happened: Most barbers, especially the social media diehards, gauge their business by what they see on social media. They follow "successful" barber influencers who share educational content that motivates them to operate their businesses the same way.
These influencers could be in New York, California, Texas, or any big city in the USA.
The commercial rents in California are most times double what they are in let's say Greenville, SC, my state. So when you hear about barbers getting $100 for a haircut in LA, it's just like a barber getting $50 in Greenville, because it spends the same. At the end of the day, barbers are pricing themselves right out of business. Barbers living in a different economy where more people can afford to handle the cost might very well get $100 when they have millions of people in their immediate area. If you don't have a substantial pool of people who can afford what you're offering at your price point, then you'll need to lower your prices. Keeping prices inflated simply isn't an option if you expect to stay in business. No matter what your favorite influencer says.
