Our essay contest asked: “What Past Invention Has Had the Greatest Impact on Modern STEM, and What Can We Learn from It?”

Both essays showcased incredible insight, creativity, and thoughtful reflection on how past innovations shape STEM today! Both students are from The Oakwood School in Greenville, NC!

Congratulations to The Oakwood School’s newest Rho Sigma Omega inductees!

Today, The Oakwood School celebrated the induction of students into their chapter of Rho Sigma Omega, the STEM Honor Society. These students have demonstrated excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, along with a strong commitment to curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

3rd Annual Essay Contest Winner: Eeshan Mudireddy

Eeshan submitted an essay for the contest The Mindset of Excellence: How a Growth Mentality Leads to Success, in which he reflected on how adopting a growth mindset during his tennis season played a key role in his achievements. Eeshan is from the Alpha Chapter at The Oakwood School in Greenville, NC.

Congratulations to Mary Beth Wright of The Oakwood School's Alpha chapter for her victory in the essay contest! Her insightful exploration of "AI Ethics in the Classroom: A Student's Perspective" has earned her well-deserved recognition as the 1st annual essay contest champion. Great job, Mary Beth!

🤔 Delve into the ethical considerations of using AI in education from a student's point of view. Discuss concerns about privacy, fairness, and the responsible use of technology.

📝 Submission Guidelines: 400 to 700 words

🎓 Who Can Participate: Open to all ΡΣΩ members currently enrolled in high school

Rho Sigma Omega is launching the STEAM Project Awards initiative, inviting existing members to submit their completed STEAM projects for potential recognition. Additional details will be shared on our website and distributed to chapter advisors in January.
