🌟 You Are Valued! 🌟

We love recognizing the amazing work happening in our building!
Here are some highlights from August:

Team Cater (Ms. Cala, Ms. Dee, and Ms. Tiffanyon C Hall) gave their newest student a red carpet welcome! From day one, they made sure she felt like part of the family. The result? She has the entire class wrapped around her finger and comes to school every single day with a permanent smile on her face! 😊

Ms. Cara, our incredible Program Facilitator, has jumped in with both feet! She's been handling student intakes, helping establish classroom systems, facilitating IEP meetings, learning names in record time, and keeping our principal on track.

Ms. Amanda in Art continues to lead by example, sharing her expertise in supporting complex needs by training other related arts teams across the entire district. 🎨

Team PT (Ms. Lisa, Ms. Terri, and Ms. Margaret) have worked tirelessly to get transportation chairs approved, refine student positions, organize bike rides, and order vital new equipment for classrooms in need.

Matt, our School Psychologist, has supported our new and returning students through the eligibility process, unlocking the specialized services they need to thrive.

This is what Washington Center is all aboutβ€”dedicated staff creating a welcoming place where every student can thrive. Thank you all for your hard work and heart! β€οΈπŸ’™

πŸŽ‰ Friday Recap! πŸŽ‰

What an amazing week at Washington Center! Everyone has been hard at work, and here are some of the things that have been happening:

πŸ”¬ Ms. Laurie's Class conducted a science experiment from the N2Y article "Earth Guardians" to determine the best way to clean up oil from water. Sam picked cotton balls, Juan chose dish detergent, and Jayse helped pour the oil into the water. Great teamwork, scientists!

🎨 Ms. Emily's Class created beautiful artwork by swirling coconut oil and milk together!

πŸ’œ The Purple Pod created a mural of friendship!

πŸ” We had the return of Seagull Grillβ€”always a favorite!

πŸŽ‚ Ms. Prentice and Ms. Marisa's classes joined forces to celebrate a special birthday!
