GPS would like to thank our 2022 Elmer Russell School Bell Award winners for joining us in this year's Danish Festival Dansk Parade on Saturday (8/19). Parade photo includes Robin Walter, Vice President/School Liasion for the Flat River Historial Society & Museum, and Don Bryant, a recently retired maintenance from Greenville Public Schools. A special THANK YOU to Tinney Automotive for providing a vehicle and a driver for our award recipients to participate in the parade. GPS is grateful for all individuals and organizations that continue to support our staff and students.

The 2023 winners will be announced via social media soon, and they will be invited to participate in next year's Danish Festival Parade with us!

GPS Staff were welcomed back this morning with a delicious breakfast served up by the GPS Food & Nutrition Team, along with a program held in the GHS Auditorium to celebrate the support of local foundations (GACF & EFG), years of service awards, and more! Greenville Public Schools will be hosting a District-Wide Medication Drop Off on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Greenville High School - Lobby (111 N. Hillcrest Street) from 11:00am-2:00pm and 3:00-5:30pm. This medication drop-off is for any prescribed daily or as-needed medication to be utilized at any GPS school. All medicines dropped off must have a Permission & Request for Administration of Medication form, SIGNED by the parent AND physician, so that the medication can be administered to the student during school hours. https://www.gpsjackets.org/page/school-nurse-services

Greenville Public Schools will be performing critical network upgrades tomorrow (Friday, August 4). Due to the upgrade process, all GPS phones and ParentVUE/StudentVUE will be down for the day. We will not be able to accept any new enrollments or returning student verifications during this time. Services should be restored by 4PM. Bonnie Short is the 2023 Support Staff of the Year for Lincoln Heights! Mrs. Short is often the first face you see when entering Lincoln Heights. One comment used on her nomination form by a parent said, " Bonnie is always super nice and welcoming on the phone and in person whenever I need to come in. She always has a smile on her face and takes pride in her position at LH," We are thrilled to present Mrs. Short with this award, as it is truly well-deserved!

Corewell Health’s Community Health Worker, Evi Peterson, shared nutrition
and physical education information with the children at Walnut Hills Elementary this week. The school is one of four locations that are open for FREE breakfast and lunch throughout the summer through our Meet Up and Eat Up program. Ms. Peterson will also be at our Baldwin Heights location on July 10th for lunch and at our High School on July 17th for lunch. Come join us each weekday for fun and food!
