At Soulful Beginnings, we believe that strong readers aren't born—they're built through intentional experiences, loving support, and a strong foundation.

This July, we're inviting a small group of young learners to join our 5-Day Rooted & Ready Early Reader Program, where children will begin developing the foundational literacy skills that lead to future reading success.

This is more than a summer program.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, we honor a powerful moment in American history—a day that reminds us of the resilience, determination, and strength of those who fought for freedom.

But freedom was never just about physical liberation.

It was also about access to knowledge.

For generations, Black Americans were denied the right to read, write, and learn because literacy was recognized as a source of power. Reading opened doors. Reading created opportunities. Reading allowed people to advocate for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Today, while our children have access to education, the mission remains the same:

Every Black child deserves the opportunity to become a strong, confident reader.

That is why we created Soulfully Building the Bridge to 2nd Grade Summer Camp. ❤️💙💛

This is the year where their independence is under a microscope 🔬 and they have to be able to do several skills with the instruction of their teacher. “With guidance and support, slowly drifts away and your child is expected to learn the information at a high level.

The Building the Bridge Camp for rising second graders will last for 5️⃣ days and I would love to connect with your scholar. 🌟
