🚒 Academy 24: Week Two Complete! 🚒

Academy 24 has officially completed Week Two, and our cadets continue to demonstrate their commitment, professionalism, and enthusiasm for the fire service!

This week, cadets:

• Elected their class officers
• Completed anatomy coursework and
laboratory activities
• Studied the circulatory system
• Continued their communications training
• Visited the Pitt County 911 Center to gain
valuable insight into emergency
communications and dispatch operations

During their visit to Pitt County 911, cadets learned more about how emergency calls are received, how life-saving information is provided to callers, and how emergency services are dispatched to those in need.

This is a remarkably hardworking group of cadets, and we are proud of the effort they are putting into their education and training.

We are excited to see what Academy 24 will accomplish!

Stay tuned as we continue to follow their journey throughout the academy!

Academy #24 — Day 7 Update

Academy #24 is getting a lot of attention from our social media viewers and potential employers, so here’s an update!

Our recruits are shaping up nicely on Day 7 as we continue to instill the importance of discipline, teamwork, and accountability.

On Friday, they will elect their own class officers and visit the Pitt County 911 Center. This visit will give them a firsthand understanding of how emergency calls come in from the public, how those incidents are processed and routed, and how they ultimately make their way to the crews in the field.

Today, the class is working on Airway Management and Artificial Ventilation—critical skills they will rely on throughout their careers.

Keep those likes, comments, and words of encouragement coming! Your support and enthusiasm are helping keep Academy #24 motivated and moving forward. Keep cheering them on!

We were honored this evening to partner with Winterville Community, Bell Arthur, and Red Oak Fire Departments this evening on extrication training. We enjoying sharing resources and financial assistance to our service area to being the best training experience possible.

Mutual Aid training with our neighboring departments is a must in today’s fire service. This evening we’re working on vehicle stabilization and extrication, focused on techniques to safely rescue trapped patients.
