Once a Pirate, always a Pirate. This isn’t just a saying to our team—this year especially, it has proven to be a lifelong promise.

As our seven seniors wrap up their time with us, we want to highlight their dedication, involvement, and accomplishments during their years on Pitt Pirates.

To our seniors, it has been our greatest honor to watch you grow throughout your FIRST journey. We’ve seen you bring new ideas to life, build lasting friendships and memories, and persevere through challenges. Your leadership and guidance have left a lasting impact, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your FIRST journey.

This past weekend, Pirates traveled to Wayne county to showcase FIRST Robotics and share in the excitement of STEM with hundreds of curious minds at the Wings over Wayne air show.

Of course, no outreach is complete without allowing kids and adults alike to test out our Robox Sumo program as well as designing their own buttons!

Some highlights included the human only match play, mentor only drive teams, getting a thunderbird pilot to drive our robot, and the record breaking penalty match which had us all cheering and laughing together!

A huge thank you to G-Force Robotics for inviting us to this amazing event! We had such a great weekend with all of you.

And just like that, the Pitt Pirates are back from the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas!

Over the past five days, our team made countless unforgettable memories, and proudly spread the FIRST NC spirit across the globe.

We wrapped up our season ranked 62nd on the Curie field. While that’s not where we hoped to finish, we couldn’t be prouder of our students and all the hard work they poured into this
ReefScape season.

We’re also thrilled to share that we received the Spirit Award for the Curie Division—we couldn’t be more excited!

As we close out this season, we reflect on the memories, experiences, laughs, tears, and everything in between that we’ve shared as
a team. Thank you to our sponsors, our FNC family, and most importantly, our Pirate
family for cheering us on every step of the way.

Go Pirates—Arghhh!

This past weekend our team participated in the Pitt County District event on our home turf of Greenville, NC!

We were excited to be the captains of the 5th seed alliance, with team 4828 the RoboEagles, and team 7671- Fire Hazard joining our ship. We had a great run, but were sadly eliminated in the quarter- finals!

Our team also took home the Imagery Award for our fun, creative look and awesome team spirit!

A huge shoutout to all of the Pitt Pirate Alumni and parents for volunteering at this event and to NC Representatives and Senate for attending our competition.

We are now counting down the days to compete at the FIRST NC State Championships in Greensboro!

The time has come again! This past weekend we competed at the Week 2 event in Wake County!

We were graciously selected by team 8746, Knights as their first alliance pick, and were joined with 5607, team Firewall! We had a great run, but were sadly eliminated.

One of our proudest moments was earning the Impact award, the most prestigious award in FIRST, recognizing our team’s dedication to outreach, innovation, and inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders. This earned us a chance to compete again for the award at the States Competition In April!

Now it's time to gear up and get back to work, as we compete this coming weekend on our home turf at the Pitt County event! We hope to see you there.
