Effective research skills include communicating about research clearly and confidently. Research Methods students practiced those skills during the end of semester poster sessions.

Students presented the research projects they developed over the semester—posing questions, collecting data, analyzing results, and communicating their findings to peers and other faculty just like real psychological scientists.

Dr. Katie Kane was recognized as a Super Pirate for use of ECU Connect, ECU's student success platform where faculty can communicate with students to give kudos, provide referrals to support services, and support them getting back on track.

Dr. Kane says, "ECU Connect surveys allow me to support and enhance student success, whether with kudos to let students know they are doing well or identifying a challenging time and that more support may be needed (which then allows for quick connections to these resources). The ECU Connect feedback, coupled with individualized feedback within my courses, lets students know that I truly value their engagement and learning experience."

We appreciate your commitment to student success, Dr. Kane!

Dr. Patrick Rich was recognized as a Super Pirate for use of ECU Connect, ECU's student success platform where faculty can communicate with students to give kudos, provide referrals to support services, and support them getting back on track.

Dr. Rich says, "I really appreciate how the ECU Connect system gives a single portal for both encouraging students who are excelling and reaching out to students who might need additional support. Even just one or two updates for students (early in the semester and around advising season) seem to help students get back on track and find the help they need through Student Academic Success Services."

We appreciate your efforts to support student success, Dr. Rich!
