A belated congratulations to our new yellow belt!

Warning we have a belt test coming up. Heads up, the father of modern day karate is gichin funakoshi. Karate started in okinawa and the three original styles were shuri te tomari te and naha te. They were named after provinces.

Martial arts began in Tibet india. From there they went to China where shoalin monks developed them. Later they moved to okinawa.

Karate was originally called to te. It meant open or Chinese Hand and was a Chinese word. Te me and Hand. Karate means empty hand.

David Sleeper here. Classes will continue as usual 4-6 on Fridayd. But Im getting married this week and as such will be unable to attend for a fortnight. I appologize for the inconvenience but the other sensei are running class business as usual. I just wont get to be there.

After the two weeks I will return ready for action.

Next Friday is the first day of our new schedule. The family karate class. All ages welcome. Children under seven will stay for the first hour and all ages above that will be there for the full two hours.

I'm excited for the leadership experience this will bring to my older student. Be sure to be an example for the younger students.

Once august hits, our homeschool class and little dragons class will merge into one family karate class for all ages, 4 to 104. The kids under 8 will train for the first hour with everyone else then bow out. This will gove the older students their leadership experience while simultaneously training their karate. For the second hour, the older students will be able to focus.

The class will be Fridays 4 to 6. Parents and older siblings are welcome to train with their children and younger siblings.

If the proposed schedule is not possible, please let one of the instructor know or sound off in the comments. We want to accommodate anyone willing to invest their time on the pursuit of martial training as best we can.
