Had a great time making Stone Soup with our 4th grade buddies!
We had a great day making and eating Stone Soup! Most of our ingredients came fresh from our garden, and some came from our students family gardens as well! We are looking forward to more fun with our kindergarten buddies soon!
We look forward to Stone Soup day each year. The 4th grade students bring the kindergarten students out to the school garden to pick produce. They clean, cut, and cook the veggies. Throughout the day we begin to smell the delicious soup cooking in the crock pots. Here are pictures of the students harvesting the garden. THANKS to Mike Malone, David Heth and Janet Wulf-Marvin for creating, maintaining, and bringing excitement to the life skill of gardening.
It was a somber, yet exciting day in 4th grade today. We had funerals in each of our homerooms for our old friend “can’t”. He always held us back and allowed us to quit. No more! Some students gave eloquent eulogies as we said our final goodbyes to this word from our vocabulary. Feel free to ask them more about it!
