Dear Greenville STEM Academy Families & Community Supporters,

We are saddened to share the news that we have decided to delay the opening of our school by one year, to August 2025.

Unforeseen delays involving the building we secured for 2024-25 have forced us to recalibrate our timeline. We are extremely sorry for this inconvenience. Like you, we have been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to work together in support of your child’s academic journey.

Despite our best diligent attempts, we have not been able to find an alternate facility that will provide us the outstanding learning environment we require. As a result, we have reluctantly decided to delay by a year, in order to achieve our educational standards.

We will keep you appraised of our progress in the coming months. We hope you will give Greenville STEM Academy the opportunity to provide your child with an outstanding academic environment, beginning in the 2025-26 school year.

We again apologize that circumstances beyond our control have led to this decision. We wish all the best of success for your student and family in 2024-25 and hope we can be of service to you in the future.

Greenville STEM Academy will emphasize measures of effectiveness and constant evaluation of student data in the process of creating and implementing action plans for each student. Meet our Head of School, Sherrod Laws!
Mr. Laws is eager to bring an outstanding academic option to students and families in Greenville and surrounding communities. He comments “When I was given the opportunity to introduce Legacy Impact Group’s acclaimed STEM curriculum into the community, I leapt at the chance. Our learning environment incorporates many components that are essential building blocks for successful students. Our STEM-based programs are augmented by a direct instruction mindset that focuses on subject mastery for our scholars. Our teachers are actively engaged. In order to make Greenville STEM Academy accessible to as many interested Greenville and Pitt County families as possible, we will provide transportation at no cost. As we learn more about our student body, we will assemble a list of bust stops to best meet the needs of those requiring transportation.

Greenville STEM Academy will be a uniform-mandatory school. School Uniforms help students experience feelings of belonging and allow them to focus on their education. Parents of accepted students will receive information about specific products and options in ample time to purchase apparel before the school year begins.

At Greenville STEM Academy we will prioritize a small, safe school with a family atmosphere. This will not extend only to our students, but to their parents as well! At Greenville STEM Academy, our Academic Model will utilize Direct Instruction. This program emphasizes meeting students where they are and teaching at their own pace to encourage subject mastery. We will utilize Sequenced lessons, Teacher-directed instruction, and Frequent practice & teacher feedback to provide each student with the personal instruction they need to succeed!
