Turn your kitchen into a science lab with this chilly, colorful experiment! Kids will explore how salt affects the freezing point of ice, creating wild tunnels and textures while building observation and sensory skills. It’s the perfect way to mix science with creativity on a cool fall day.

Materials:
- Surgical gloves
- Glitter
- Food coloring
- Halloween-themed figurines (tiny spiders, buttons, etc.)
- Coarse salt (table salt works too)

Instructions:
1. Fill the surgical glove with a few spooky figurines and some glitter. Add water and a few drops of food coloring, then tie the glove tightly.
2. Place the glove in the freezer and let it freeze overnight.
3. Once frozen, carefully remove the glove to reveal your ice “hand.”
4. Sprinkle salt generously over the top of the frozen hand.
5. Watch as the salt melts tunnels and cracks into the ice, revealing hidden surprises!
6. Keep exploring as the ice continues to melt and change. Talk about what’s happening and why—it’s a fun way to experiment with science and Halloween magic!

Turning fear into fun, this clever book helps children manage scary feelings with bold illustrations and playful die-cuts. As each page builds, and then takes apart the monster, young readers gain a sense of control over something that once felt overwhelming. Go Away, Big Green Monster! by Ed Emberley is a powerful tool for emotional growth, reminding all that fear is a natural, important feeling; one they can understand, face, and grow from with confidence!
