Our 4th graders put chemistry into action during STEAM! By combining baking soda and vinegar, students observed a chemical reaction that created carbon dioxide gas—and inflated a balloon right before their eyes. Hands-on learning makes science come alive at Walton Academy! 🧪🎈

Science, engineering, and art all in one activity! 🎨⚙️

Our Summer Campers welcomed Bricks4Kidz: Greenville-Winterville, NC and learned how motion can create spin art. After exploring the science behind spinning, they built their own motorized creations, attached paper plates, and watched colorful designs come to life!

This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and an understanding of cause and effect—while making some pretty amazing art along the way!

🚌 FULL buses and vans, and a whole lot of excited Summer Campers headed out for another adventure!

Today our campers are off to the Imperial center for the Arts & Sciences in Rocky Mount for a day filled with exploring, learning, and fun! The Imperial Centre offers hands-on science experiences, interactive exhibits, arts programming, and opportunities for children to learn beyond the classroom.

There’s just something we love about seeing every seat filled, our campers excited, and our CWLC buses and vans rolling out together for another Summer Camp field trip. 🚌 We are truly creating summers that our School Age Children will never forget.

Summer Camp at Children’s World and Walton Academy means places to go, things to discover, and memories to make! ☀️

Our Summer Camp agents put their investigation skills to the test with a colorful chromatography experiment!
✍🏻Using markers, water, and coffee filters, they watched as the ink spread and separated into different pigments—revealing that one color can be made up of several hidden colors.

From making predictions to observing and recording their results, our young scientists used the scientific method to complete another top-secret mission! 🕵️‍♀️🔬
