BRIGHT IDEAS ON A BUDGET

Our 4th graders put their problem-solving skills to work during a Constraint Bank challenge in STEM Lab.

Students learned about criteria and constraints, then had to build a working circuit with a $5 budget. They planned carefully, made decisions and stayed within their limits to complete the task.

We loved seeing those lightbulbs come on in more ways than one!

Nuestros alumnos de cuarto grado pusieron en práctica sus habilidades de resolución de problemas durante un desafío de "Banco de Recursos Limitados" en el laboratorio STEM.

College Colors Day was a success!

So many colleges and universities were represented throughout Welcome today. We may have different teams and different colors with different allegiances, but we are one school and one pack.

IT'S A HAT TRICK

As part of our class incentives, Ms. Weber’s 4th Grade class earned a crazy hair and hat day after collecting more than 30 Pack Paws. These Pack Paws were given by other teachers who noticed their positive behavior as a class.

We are proud of our Wolves for leading with teamwork, responsibility and great choices. Keep it up, Ms. Weber's class! 🐺💙💛🎩

Today the Upstate Fatherhood Coalition came to Welcome to greet our students in the car line and help start their day with encouragement.

We appreciate their time, support and positive presence for our students and families. Moments like this remind us that strong schools are built through strong community partnerships. 🐺💙💛

Thank you to the more than 40 families who joined us for our first School Improvement Council meeting of the year!

We had a great evening discussing the power of school attendance, our Leader in Me program, and how our Title I program supports the work happening at Welcome Elementary.

We are grateful for the teachers and families who came together to discuss important topics that help move our school forward. Strong schools are built through strong partnerships, and we are thankful for our Welcome community. 🐺💙💛

🏆 AS GOOD AS GOLD! 🏆

We are excited to celebrate our first Golden Broom and Golden Tray winners of the year! Ms. Stull’s class won the Golden Broom and Ms. LaPenna’s class won the Golden Tray.

This is our first year recognizing classes each week for clean classrooms and great cafeteria etiquette. The Golden Broom is awarded by our custodial team to the class with the cleanest classroom, and the Golden Tray is awarded by our Food and Nutrition staff to the class showing the best cafeteria manners and expectations.

These awards are a great reminder that leadership shows up in the little things: taking care of our spaces, showing respect, working together and making choices that help our school community.

Congratulations to our first winners! The question is, will they hold on to the Golden Broom and Golden Tray next week, or will another class rise to the challenge? 🐺💙💛🧹🍽️

¡Nos complace celebrar a los primeros ganadores del año de la Escoba de Oro y la Bandeja de Oro! La clase de la Sra. Stull ganó la Escoba de Oro y la clase de la Sra. LaPenna ganó la Bandeja de Oro.

Este es nuestro primer año reconociendo semanalmente a las clases que mantienen sus aulas limpias y demuestran un comportamiento ejemplar en la cafetería. El premio de la Escoba de Oro lo otorga nuestro equipo de conserjería a la clase con el aula más limpia, mientras que la Bandeja de Oro la entrega nuestro personal de Alimentación y Nutrición a la clase que mejor cumple con las normas de conducta y cortesía en la cafetería.

This past Friday, our first Spirit Day of the year was full of Welcome pride!

It was great to see our Wolves showing their school spirit and coming together as one pack. Days like this help build the energy, joy and connection that make Welcome such a special place.

We are excited for many more moments like this throughout the year! 🐺💙💛

Ms. Bevis’s class is off to an inquiry-filled start to the school year! 🔎🐺

Today, students learned and explored engineering processes while asking questions, testing ideas, and thinking like problem-solvers.

They are already putting Habit 1: Be Proactive, Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind, and Habit 3: Put First Things First into action as they take ownership of their learning, set goals, and work through the engineering process. 💙💛

We love seeing our Wolves think, create, collaborate, and LEAD! 🐺✨
