Today’s Who’s Running EBA? spotlight shines on Mrs. Maggie Cox, our incredible Media Center Coordinator and one of the most influential people in our school community.

Mrs. Cox helps keep the heart of EBA beating.

As the leader of our Media Center, Mrs. Cox creates a welcoming space where students can explore new ideas, develop a love for reading, and grow as learners. But her impact extends far beyond the bookshelves and library walls.

Today’s Who’s Running EBA? spotlight shines on Ms. Blair Driver, one of our outstanding 8th Grade Science and Social Studies Teachers and a true leader within the Jaguar Family.

Ms. Driver is known for her unwavering commitment to student success and her relentless dedication to moving E.B. Aycock Middle School forward. Whether she is challenging students to think critically, collaborating with colleagues, supporting school initiatives, or helping solve problems, she consistently demonstrates what it means to put students first.

In the classroom, Ms. Driver creates engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, exploration, and academic growth. She helps students make meaningful connections between the past, present, and future while inspiring them to become lifelong learners.

Today’s Who’s Running EBA? spotlight shines on Mr. Kareem Atkinson, one of our outstanding School Counselors and the unmistakable Voice of EBA!

Whether he’s greeting students in the morning, making announcements throughout the day, celebrating student accomplishments, or providing support when students need it most, Mr. Atkinson’s voice has become a familiar and trusted presence across our campus.

As a school counselor, Mr. Atkinson works tirelessly to support the academic, social, emotional, and personal growth of our students. He builds meaningful relationships with students and families, helps students navigate challenges, celebrates their successes, and ensures every Jaguar knows they have someone in their corner.

Beyond his counseling responsibilities, Mr. Atkinson plays a vital role in shaping the positive culture and climate of EBA. His energy, encouragement, and genuine care for students help create an environment where students feel connected, supported, and empowered to succeed.

🐆 WHO’S RUNNING EBA? | Meet Ms. Aleita Leverston 🐆

Today’s Who’s Running EBA? spotlight shines on Ms. Aleita Leverston, who will be serving our students as a 7th Grade Science and Social Studies Teacher this school year!

Many of our students and families already know Ms. Leverston from her outstanding work as EBA’s AIG Teacher during the previous school year. Through her dedication, passion for student growth, and commitment to academic excellence, she made a tremendous impact on students across our school.

This year, Ms. Leverston is bringing those same strengths into the classroom as she helps our 7th graders explore the worlds of science and social studies. Her ability to challenge students, foster curiosity, and build meaningful relationships makes her a tremendous asset to our school community.

Whether she is helping students think critically, discover new ideas, or connect learning to the world around them, Ms. Leverston is committed to creating engaging experiences that inspire student success. Her passion for education and belief in students help make EBA a stronger place each day.

🐆 WHO’S RUNNING EBA? | Meet Ms. Britni Gresham 🐆

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Britni Gresham to the Jaguar Family! Ms. Gresham will be joining E.B. Aycock Middle School as a 6th Grade Science and Social Studies Teacher, and we are excited to have her as part of our team.

Having previously taught 5th grade at RES, Ms. Gresham brings a strong understanding of our students’ transition into middle school and a passion for building meaningful relationships that support student success.

When asked why she is excited to join EBA, Ms. Gresham shared:

“I am beyond excited to be joining the EBA family! Having taught 5th grade at RES, I look forward to continuing relationships with many familiar students and families while also getting to know new ones. Middle school is such an exciting and transformative time, and I’m thrilled to encourage students, celebrate their successes both in and out of the classroom, and contribute to the incredible things already happening at EBA!”

Ms. Gresham’s enthusiasm, positivity, and commitment to students make her a wonderful addition to our school community. Today’s Who’s Running EBA? spotlight shines on Ms. Natalie Haugeberg, our talented Orchestra Director and a champion for the musical arts at E.B. Aycock Middle School!

Ms. Haugeberg brings passion, creativity, and excellence to our Orchestra Program, helping students develop not only their musical abilities but also the confidence, discipline, and perseverance that come with mastering an instrument. Through her dedication, students are challenged to grow as musicians while discovering the joy and power of music.

Under her leadership, our orchestra students have achieved success both in the classroom and on the performance stage, proudly representing EBA through concerts, competitions, and special performances. She creates opportunities for students to showcase their talents while fostering a culture of teamwork, commitment, and pride.

🐆 WHO’S RUNNING EBA? | Meet Mr. Chris Turner 🐆

Today’s Who’s Running EBA? spotlight shines on Mr. Chris Turner, our Career Exploration Teacher and a dedicated leader who is helping prepare Jaguars for success both inside and outside the classroom.

Mr. Turner brings a wealth of real-world experiences into our College & Career Readiness Lab, helping students make meaningful connections between what they learn today and the opportunities that await them tomorrow. Through hands-on learning experiences, career exploration activities, and practical life skills, he helps students discover their interests, talents, and future pathways.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Turner serves as an Assistant Coach for our Jaguar Baseball Program, where he helps develop student-athletes both on and off the field. His leadership, mentorship, and commitment to our students continue to make a positive impact throughout our school community.

Mr. Turner has also been instrumental in bringing Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) back to EBA, creating opportunities for students to connect, grow in leadership, build positive relationships, and strengthen their character through service and fellowship.

Whether he is helping students explore future careers, coaching on the baseball field, or creating new opportunities for students through FCA, Mr. Turner consistently goes above and beyond to support our Jaguars.

As our AVID teacher and coordinator, Mrs. Miller-Emery is committed to ensuring students are equipped with the skills, mindset, and opportunities needed to succeed in middle school, high school, college, and beyond. Through her leadership, our AVID program continues to grow and impact more students each year.

Mrs. Miller-Emery has been instrumental in expanding AVID’s influence across our school by promoting strategies that enhance student agency, ownership of learning, organization, collaboration, and academic confidence.
