Berea High School would like to welcome Paul Hammer to our staffulty. Welcome ot the pack CMSgt Hammer!
When asked to share a little about himself, this is what he shared:
Hello Berea High School family!
My name is Paul Hammer, and I am honored to join Berea High School as the new JROTC Senior Aerospace Science Instructor. My wife, Erica, and our three children—Emery (12), Jeremiah (9), and Joshua (9)—recently moved here after spending many years traveling and living around the world through military service.
As a family, we love spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and building meaningful relationships within the communities we call home. We are excited to become part of the Berea family and invest in the students who make this community so special.
One of the core mottos of JROTC is "Developing Citizens of Character." We firmly believe that our young people are our future and are worth our time, energy, and mentorship. Our goal is to help students grow into confident leaders, responsible citizens, and individuals of strong character who are prepared to make a positive impact on the world around them.
We look forward to getting to know you, supporting our students, and becoming active members of the Berea community. Thank you for welcoming our family!
Go Bulldogs!

Meet Mrs. Antoine
Freshman Academy Assistant Principal
Mrs. Antoine is excited to join the Berea High School community as the Freshman Academy Assistant Principal. Raised in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she witnessed firsthand the importance of representation, opportunity, and access to a high-quality education. Those experiences shaped her belief in the power of education to transform lives, expand opportunities, and inspire students to reach beyond what they once believed was possible.
Since entering the field of education in 2018, Mrs. Antoine has served students in diverse educational settings across Pennsylvania and South Carolina. She began her career teaching in programs serving students in psychiatric hospitals, juvenile justice settings, and foster care placements before joining Pennsylvania's largest statewide cyber school, where she taught English and later served as a Department Head and Content Specialist, supporting students and educators from across the Commonwealth.
After relocating to Greenville in 2023, Mrs. Antoine began her Greenville County Schools career as an English teacher at Lakeview Middle School before joining Mauldin High School, where she taught English and coached Track & Field. She later transitioned into school leadership at Greer High School, serving as both Freshman Academy Coordinator and Director of Track & Field before joining the Berea High School administrative team.
Mrs. Antoine believes education is about more than earning a diploma—it is about opening doors, expanding possibilities, and helping students discover who they are capable of becoming. She is committed to creating a school community where every freshman is known, challenged, and inspired to pursue excellence. She is honored to join the Berea family and looks forward to helping every student build a future filled with purpose, opportunity, and possibility.
Welcome to the pack Mrs. Antoine!

Berea High School would like to welcome Matthew Trotter. Welcome to the pack Mr. Trotter!
When asked to share a litttle about himself, he shared the following:
My name is Matthew Trotter, and I'm excited to begin a new role in administration at Berea High School. Before moving into administration, I spent 13 years in the classroom, focusing on AP Human Geography and at-risk U.S. History cohorts. When I'm not on campus, I'm helping raise two rambunctious boys, Hudson and Reid, with my wife, Shelley, who teaches 5th grade math. I'm thrilled to join the Berea High School family and look forward to being a part of a great school year!

Berea High School would like to welcome Allie Ablewood. Welcome to the pack!
When she was asked to tell us a little about herself, she shared the following:
My name is Allie Ablewood and I am so excited to be joining the Berea High Counseling Department for my 4th year as a school counselor! I may look familiar to many of you as I spent my first three years as a school counselor at Berea Middle School. I love the Bulldogs and am honored to be continuing my time in this community.
I graduated from Furman University in 2018 with a BA in Political Science and Communication Studies and went on to complete a Masters of Education in Counselor Education with a specialty in School Counseling in 2023 from Clemson University.
My husband, Hunter (who helps coach JV baseball!), and I travel as much as possible. Our most recent trip was to Italy this past summer! When I’m not at school I spend my time with our two dogs, Franklin and Colby, seeing local musicals, and performing in my church’s choir.
I can’t wait to see both some familiar and new faces this school year!
