Dr. Constance M. Haywood (ENGL) presented “The Revolution Will Be Digitized: Examining the Role of Digital and Social Media Spaces in the Cultivation of Black Women’s Sexual Identity, Empowerment, and Freedom” as part of Gender to a Tea on April 19, 2023.

Gender to a Tea is a speakers’ series designed to help gender-focused researchers by fielding questions from attendees about the presenters’ ongoing, unpublished research. It is sponsored by the Gender Studies Program, Gender Studies Executive Board, and Harriot College of Arts and Sciences.

Tune into this critical conversation on Intimate Partner Violence in the LGBTQ+ Community in NC with WomenNC's UNC Public Policy Capstone Students and learn about their research and policy solutions to improve the status quo! Webinar will be hosted on WomenNC's Facebook LIVE. Le***an and transgender women face the highest risk of gender-based violence, but get the least attention. There is disproportionate violence and discrimination that many le***an, bisexual, and transgender women face. This means we need policies that consider the unique needs of these populations.🏳️‍🌈
