10 squads and counting! 🏴‍☠️💜

This summer, ECU’s Veteran to Scholar Boot Camp welcomed 11 new student veterans to campus, marking the 10th Squad to complete the program!

Led by Anna Froula (English) and Sheena Eagan (BSOM), the two-week program helps student veterans make the transition from military to university life while earning three credits, building academic skills, connecting with campus resources, and—most importantly—finding community at ECU.

This year’s Squad also welcomed authors Michael Ramos and Ben Fountain for in-person conversations about their work, war, homecoming, and the experiences of veterans.

Congratulations to the 10th Squad, and welcome to Pirate Nation! 🏴‍☠️
