In Mrs. Hurst's class, students build important employability skills through hands-on, meaningful work experiences. One favorite job is making buttons that the school uses to recognize teachers participating in professional development. Students practice attention to detail, consistency, sorting, cutting, following directions, collaborating, and taking turns while working together to complete each order. Students especially enjoy making buttons because they love seeing the different images and creating something with their hands. It's work that doesn't feel like work!

The PSAT at Mauldin High School will take place on Tuesday, October 6. Students will report to the second floor at 8:30 AM. Students who are off-campus in the morning should plan to report to Mauldin before 8:30 AM. Prior to test day, students are required to complete a Pre-Test Session in order to confirm that everything is accurate for testing. Pre-Test Sessions will occur on September 28 and 29. Students will receive specific information, dates and times for Pre-Test in mid-September. PSAT registration closed on August 24, 2026.

Open House
MHS will host our Fall Open House on Thursday, September 10, 2026 starting at 6:00 pm in the auditorium, followed by an opportunity to visit with your student’s teachers. You will be provided valuable information about the class, your student’s teacher and your student’s progress thus far. A detailed schedule will be provided closer to the event.

Senior Parent Night
Seniors are reminded of Senior/Parent night in conjunction with Open House on Thursday, September 10 - following the opening meeting at 6:00 pm. This meeting will cover items including Senior expectations, graduation, and helping students prepare for their next steps after becoming Mauldin graduates.

Students in Human Geography speed dated by countries. Students first researched an analyzed data on a random country to determine their demographic transition model. Then they compared their findings in a quick-paced interview with another country. Students looked for compatibility between their findings.
